Linda (Woods) Alford Adkisson

Linda (Woods) Alford Adkisson, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, went Home on Sunday, August 15, 2021, surrounded by her family and closest friends.

She was born on December 10, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Earl and Pauline (Carby) Woods. She is also preceded in death by her grandmother Katie Hawkins Carby and grandfather John L. Carby.

Linda was a 1968 graduate of Louisville Male High School and was employed at AT&T from May of 1969 until retiring in April of 2008 after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America and a longtime member of Southeast Christian Church. Linda was a very active person from riding bikes, running, walking and talking.....a lot. Linda was the ultimate Nana, she found ways to celebrate and encourage her grandchildren in whatever they were doing and always made them feel special.


Linda leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband, Don Adkisson, former husband, Garry Alford, son, Jason Alford (Alana), daughter, Katie Adkisson-Jeffcoat (Frank), sister Patty Gowers (Kenny), the light of her life were her grandchildren; Ethan Jeffcoat, Gabriel Alford, Camden Smith, Ellie Alford, Gracie Jeffcoat, niece Laura Gowers, nephew John Gowers (Candi) and the best friend she ever had Connie Frerman (Larry). Linda is also survived by a host of cousins, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
