Jennifer Lee Jones

Jennifer Lee Jones, a lively, strong, and smart daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend passed away unexpectedly on July 6th 2021 at the age of 42, in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

Jenny is survived by her parents, Kathi Kendall(Ron) and Michael Jones(Cindy) daughter, Kierra Lewis, grandchildren, Trip and Tyla, sister Jeanna Townsley-Morse, grandmothers, Jean Shepherd and Joanne Johnson, partner Steven Grigsby and best friends, Melissa Watson, Jodi Brown, Amy Cornish and Tonja Ashford. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Athel Shepherd and Bill Jones, her "Pops", Jerry Veltman and her mentor Charlie Ryan.

Jenny was born June 12, 1979. She graduated from Jefferson County High School and ITT Technical College followed by a 10 year career at River City Housing where she was a dedicated and respected employee.

Jenny saw the bright side of every situation and spread her sense of positivity to everyone while constantly improving her own life. Alongside her family and friends Jenny lived life to the fullest each day. She is inspiring to all women and single mothers that you can have anything you want in life. It's all about what you choose to make of it. She will be deeply missed but forever appreciated, celebrated and loved.


God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
