Linda Lee Sloan, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, June 18, 2021. She was a strong and principled person that loved life, prayed hard, and lived life to its fullest, despite having a severe illness and obstacles.
She was born on April 9, 1948, in Pasadena, California, to the late Sgt. Dell and Ruth (Midboe) Sloan. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Sloan. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Munda; grandsons, Shane, Guiller, Jr., and Christopher Munda; her new great-grandson, Buwan; sister, Patricia Ueland; and many cousins.
She enjoyed attending church and Bible studies, as well as singing, power walking, dancing, and working. Linda attended Helix High School in La Mesa, California, then graduated from Crossmont College with a degree in Dietary Science. She went on to work for major hospital systems in San Diego, California, for many years as an Associate Dietician. Her career continued for several more years in long-term health care facilities in Dietary Science and also as an Associate Social Worker. She later moved to southern Indiana to be closer to her daughter and grandsons. Upon her arrival in Indiana, Linda immediately went to work for Blue River Services, helping people remain healthy and stable in their own homes. She loved God, her family, friends, and life.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday with burial to follow at Friendship Cemetery in New Albany.
