Marva Joyce Curry

Marva Joyce Curry, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Marva enjoyed attending Church, and was an Associate Minister at Greater Friendship Baptist Church. Where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Bible Study, and on Women's Ministries. She was a retired nurse and worked at Summerfield Nursing Home for many years. She was a loving and caring person for her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was born on April 19, 1944 in Owensboro , Kentucky to Arthur and Gwendolyn (Ray) Scott. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Leonard Curry Sr., Parents, Brother, George S Scott, Sisters, Sheila Miller, and Hazel Scott.

Marva is survived by her Daughter, Leslie (Jeremiah) Capers, Sons, MacDonald Curry, Arthur D. Curry, Leonard (Valerie D.) Curry, Jr., Xavier E. Curry, Jeffrey D. (Deborah) Curry, and Michael A. Curry, Brothers, Arthur (Cassandra) Scott, Jr., William D. Scott, and Stephen Scott, Sister, Estelle Thomas. Marva also leaves behind to cherish her memory 14 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends, Church Family, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, at Greater Friendship Baptist Church (2325 Osage Street, Louisville) with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
