Reverend John Wesley Springer Jr, affectionately known as Junior by those who knew and loved him, was born March 5, 1930, in Louisville, Kentucky, son of John Wesley Springer, Sr. and Hazel Lee Martin Springer, passed away on May 20, 2021. John was preceded in eternity by his wife Irma Rosalee Springer, married for sixty-eight years, and his twin's son Walter and Wesley, sisters Ella Mae Hinkle Moran and Helores Hinkle Carson.
A firm believer in the Lord and versed in the Word of Christ. An ordained minister through Simmons Bible College, an assistance pastor at Young's Chapel AME, also in Taylorsville. A veteran of the Marines and Coast guard. An employee of the railroad. He also worked as a private caregiver. John also was an avid cook and baker who love having family gatherings and dinners.
John leaves to cherish his children James Lawrence Luney, Nancy Walker (Sanford), Jonii Olivia Taylor (Larry) and Harold Springer (Helen), his nieces JoAnn Williams and Barbara Jean Ray, his ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, along with several great-great children. Services will Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Viewing from 10:00 – 12:00 with the service at 1230. Burial will follow the service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160.
Per John's wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of John may be made to the family of John Springer in the care of his children.
