Rhonda Sue Tomes

Rhonda Sue (Davidson) Tomes, 67, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd. She was born in Osceola, Iowa, on January 29, 1954. The third of four children, she grew up in Indianola, Iowa, and graduated high school in 1972. Rhonda joined in marriage to Kermit Tomes in December of 1991. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Edgewood College, followed by her Bachelor of Nursing at Bellarmine University.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her mother, Billie (Hilton) Davidson; father, Ronald (Martha) Davidson; and infant granddaughter, Autumn Elbert.

She is survived by her husband, Kermit Tomes; children, Chad (Kristie) Elbert and Kameron Tomes; grandchildren, Taylor Elbert, Brayden Elbert, and Brock Elbert; and siblings, Cathy (Leland) Webb, Terry (Sandy) Davidson, and Lisa Davidson (Barb Ribeiro).

There will be no visitation or service, only a private graveside service for the immediate family. Rhonda was an avid fan of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
