Danny Thomas, 81, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021. Danny was an avid University of Kentucky fan and served as a member of the Committee of 101. He was a proud Vietnam War veteran and served our country well. Danny will truly be missed by anyone that had the honor of meeting him.
He was born on September 29, 1939 in Harlan, Kentucky to Willard and Viola (Muncy) Thomas. He is preceded in death by his father, Willard S. Thomas and mother, Viola Thomas; siblings, Laurawilla Herren and Anna "Teetle" Wyatt.
Danny is survived by his loving Wife, Bette M. Kidwell; children, Shari L. (Chris) Head, Steven D. Thomas, and Susan D. (Robert) Quiggins; step-children, Glenn McFarland and Cindy (Chris) Sparrow; grandchildren, Kayla (Cory) Perronie, Mark Head, Austin Quiggins, Dustin Quiggins, Matthew Head, Abigail Quiggins, and Alex Thomas; great-grandchild, Aubree Perronie; sister, Billie-Rae Zimmerman. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Graveside Service will be at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, KY.
The family requests that contributions in Danny's memory be made to Humane Society. The Humane Society is where he rescued his "furbaby" Terry.
