James Edward Shelby Jr."Big Shebby", 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
He was born on May 28, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky to James E. Shelby, Sr. and Margaret Shelby . Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Renee A. Shelby.
James was an avid horse racing fan, his love for horses eventually led to him working for Churchill Downs as a grounds keeper.
James is survived by his loving siblings, Sheila (David, Sr.) Wright, Cheryl (Theodore) Butler, Linda (Jeffrey) Haak, Nathaniel W. Shelby, Andre T. Shelby, a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and his close friend, Valerie Randolph.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
