Roger Gail Shepherd

October 21, 1946 — February 11, 2021

Roger Gail Shepherd, 74, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021. He was a retired pipe fitter and member of the Local 502. Roger was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and whitewater rafting. He also liked to travel and was a talented woodworker.

He was born on October 21, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Cundiff) Shepherd. Roger is survived by his wife, Patricia (Fritts) Shepherd; children, Mike Shepherd, Don Shepherd (Annette), Karen Kemper (David), Robin Shepherd-Wathen (Clay), Scott Shepherd (Amber), and Brian Shepherd; brothers, Robert Shepherd (Patricia) and Rick Shepherd (Gailyn); 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow.

Contributions in Roger's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
