James Tilton MacDonald passed peacefully into eternity on Sunday, February 7, 2021, surrounded by his family. Jim was born September 28, 1946 in Lexington, KY to the late Robert and Ruth (Wheat) MacDonald.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United State Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organization, serving as Quartermaster for sixteen years.
He enjoyed a long career in the Information Technology Department for Philip Morris, retiring after twenty nine years. Jim was an avid sports fan, and cheering on his UK Wildcats was a favorite pastime.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother Bobby.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 23 years, Annie "Myrl" MacDonald; his sons, Steven (Lori) MacDonald, Michael (April) MacDonald; stepsons, Terry (Lisa) Burden, Teddy (Diana) Burden and Chris (Tina) Burden; brothers, Jeff (Sabrina) MacDonald, Richard (Margaret) MacDonald; a sister, Elizabeth (Steve) Pierson; and grandchildren, Brooke MacDonald, Kaden MacDonald, Katherine MacDonald, Mackenzie Burden and Dalton Burden; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 2 to 6pm on Sunday, February 14, 2021 and 9am to 10am on Monday, February 15th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky (in Middletown). A celebration of Jim's life will be at 10am on Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the VFW Middletown Post 1170 at 107 Evergreen Rd, Middletown, KY 40243 would be appreciated.
