Elmer J. Wheatley Sr.

Elmer J Wheatley Sr., 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021. He was born on May 6, 1933 in Hardinsburg, Kentucky to the late Henry and Nannie Wheatley. He devoted his life to serving the Lord and was a minister at several churches, most recently at Medora Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, Elmer is preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Wheatley, Raymond Wheatley, Claude Wheatley, Elza Wheatley, Mildred Poole and Evadean Prather.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 69 years, Dorothy Wheatley; children, Janice Clouse, Janette (Roy) Trent, Elmer (Kim) Wheatley, Jr and Joe (Tina) Wheatley; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Priest; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
