Jean Cox, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd.
She was born on August 20, 1938, in Palmyra, Indiana, to Clarence and Ruth (Howerton) Hartman. Jean retired from PNC Bank and volunteered with the American Red Cross and Interfaith Council. She attended Depauw Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of Central Barren United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman G. Cox; and sister, Joyce Ash. Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Marsha (James) Robinson; sister, Sandra (Larry) Moore; 2 grandsons, James Robinson, Jr., and Dylan (Hannah) Truman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to COVID restrictions, private family services will take place on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Burial will be at Central Barren Cemetery in Palmyra, Indiana. Masks are required to attend the service.
The family requests that contributions in Jean's memory be made to the American Red Cross or Crusade for Children.
