Ms. Debra Ann Booker was born to Mary and Ocie Lee Booker, Jr on August 17th 1955. After a very lengthy illness, our beloved Debra departed this life on December 4th, 2020 in Louisville, KY.
Debra was full of life, protective of her younger siblings and at times, a true force to be reckoned with. She believed what she believed and did not hold back her opinion! One of the most important things that she believed was in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Debra learned of the Lord and committed her life to him at an early age. Debra united with Von Spiegel Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Cornelius Booker Sr. She grew up in church and loved singing praises unto the Lord. Debra often traveled around the city of Louisville sharing her God given talent of singing a various churches and other events. Her melodic voice will forever remain etched in our memory.
Debra was a very gifted student and graduated from Ahrens Trade High School in 1973. After graduating high school, she entered the workforce. Her first job was as a Pharmacy Tech at Sherman's Pharmacy. Debra then went on to work in the insurance field, which became her career. She became ill while working at Wells Fargo, and medically retired. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and reading.
Debra was preceded in death by her father, Ocie Lee Jr; brother Antonio; and grandparents, Jessie and Lucy Brewer and Ocie and Carrie Booker Sr,. She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted mother, Mary Booker of Louisville, KY; brother, Marvin (Janice) Booker of Madison, AL; brother, Ocie Lee "Trey" Booker III, of Louisville, KY; sister, Theresa Booker of Louisville, KY; and her loving nephew and caretaker, Antonio "Lil Tony" (Sharon) Thomas of Louisville, KY.. Debra also leaves a host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and former coworkers to cherish her memories.
Rest on sweet Debra we will see you later!
