Mona Jean (Nance) Vaughn

Mona Jean (Nance) Vaughn, 66, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020. She enjoyed reading, watching Westerns on TV, being around animals, and being with her family and friends.

She was born on February 19, 1954, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late William and Mona (Wate) Nance. Along with her parents, Mona is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Vaughn; and brothers, Charles and Robert Nance.

Mona is survived by her loving children, Anthony (Kimberly) Vaughn and Angela Vaughn; grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsey) Vaughn, Austin (Cheyenne) Vaughn, and Ricky Brewer; many great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Reed; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

For the safety of our community, masks will be required to attend. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane) and will continue on Friday, November 20, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, her Funeral Service will be held privately with burial to follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Mona's memory be made to the American Heart Association.
