Donald Ray "Donnie" Johnson, 85, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020. He was a member of the American Legion Post 28 in New Albany.
He was born on October 29, 1934 in Floyd County, Indiana to the late Ottis, Sr. and Thelma (Rice) Johnson. Donnie was also preceded in death by his son, Steven Johnson; siblings, Loretta Dick, Ottis Johnson; and brother-in-law, Richard Dick.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, JoAnn (Knasel) Johnson; children, Belinda Carrico, Donald Johnson (Tammy), Thomas Mousty (Patty), Melody Johnson, Patricia Johnson, James Johnson (Tami), David Johnson; brothers, Irvin Johnson (Vera), Anthony Johnson (Theresa); 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Donnie's wishes.
