Charles Thomas Briscoe, Sr., 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was born on December 21, 1942 in Louisville , Kentucky to the late James and Dorothy Briscoe. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evie Mae Briscoe, daughter, Sherrie Smith, sister, Mattie Mason, brother, William L. Briscoe, and grandchild, Charles Briscoe, III.
Charlie Boy was a proud graduate of Central High School. After graduating he served in the United States Navy. He worked at Hubs Department Store as a Salesman. He later in life became a Deacon at Eastern Star Baptist Church, where he was a proud dedicated member. He was the recipient of the Bell Award for Community Service. He was a jack of all trades, he was a very talented handyman. Charlie Boy will always be remembered for telling jokes, like the comedian Redd Foxx.
Charlie Boy is survived by his, children, Donna Briscoe, Charles Briscoe, Jr. (Denise), Detrick Briscoe, Charlene Pumphrey (Louis), Lattice Maddox, Yolanda Tann, Raphael (Nina) Smith, Shamon Smith, and Carmenlita Sanford; sister, Julia Winbush; grandchildren, Eric, Nicholas, Quinn, Asia, Jaray, Rayneisha, Darrell, Adrian, Kenya, Audrey, Malaysia, Lashonta, Brittany, Brent, Laderka, Corey, Chad Thomas III; great grandchildren, John Wright , Jr., Jamaria, Jaylin, Blake Kaden, Mariah, Alaysia; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Monday, August 3rd at Eastern Star Baptist Church, 2400 Howard Street. The family will be honoring his life at 11am, Tuesday, August 4th at the church. Charlie Boy will be receiving military honors immediately following the service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
