Jamie Lavar Smith, 43, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020. Jamie was born on December 26, 1976, in Louisville, Kentucky to Nellie Oldham and James Smith. He was full of life and had a smile that would brighten up a room full of people. Jamie was a gambling, betting and joking man and his sense of humor was everything.

Jamie loved to play football as a kid and his love for football continued into adulthood until his health began to take a toll on him. He fought hard against kidney disease, which led him to dialysis treatments twice a week. Despite this illness, he never lost his smile and it will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.

Jamie is preceded in death by his parents, James Smith and Nellie Oldham and his oldest Brother, Toriano Oldham.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Raysean McDowell; his daughter, Jameisha Smith; brothers, James Carr, Leonard Bond and Melvin Oldham; sisters, Beverly, Geneva and Geisha Hornbeck; nephews, Toriano Oldham, Jr., James Carr, Jr. and Alijah Baines; nieces, Toya and April Carr; and a host of aunties and cousins.
