Melanie Sue Rappe Porter, 51, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020. She was born on October 6, 1968 in Louisville, Kentucky. She had a passion for horses and was very artistic. Whether it was gardening, watching the birds or fishing, Melanie was happiest when she was enjoying nature.

Melanie is survived by her son, Jason Boone; daughter, Racheal Stevens; mother, Joyce Barley Rappe; brothers, Robert Rappe, Jr., Steve (Amy) Rappe and Greg (Kristie) Rappe; and grandson, Jaxon Boone. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Rappe, Sr.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
