Alan "Wayne" Sharp, 74, amazing husband, wonderful father, and incredible grandfather, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020. He retired from UPS after over 30 years of service as a delivery driver. Wayne attended Fern Creek Christian Church and was active in Teamsters for a Democratic Union (TDU) and Local 89 Teamsters Union. He enjoyed traveling and working in the yard.
He was born on December 25, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Marvin and Eva (Clark) Sharp. Wayne was also preceded in death by his siblings, Delbert Sharp, Donald Sharp, Norma McGraw, and Donald Wise; and stepmother, Dorothy Sharp.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Deborah (Whitlow) Sharp; children, Alana Sharp-Huntsman (Jesse), Joshua Alan Sharp, and Shelly Sharp-Cote (Courtney); sister, Joyce Sharp-Craig (Ron); sisters-in-law, Mary and Ann; grandchildren, Ally Sharp, Aidan Wayne Sharp, Alexis Lovelady (Aaron), Brandon Sharp, and Andrew Sharp; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with cremation to follow according to Wayne's wishes.
