Roger Dale Mattingly, 75, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020. Roger was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Sears/CitiGroup Credit Central. He was a member of the former Metropolitan Baptist Church. His hobbies included raising and showing horses and raising dappled boer goats. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling and was an avid reader.
He was born on December 14, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late C. Emmett and D. Opal (Morgan) Mattingly. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Shain; brother, Charlie Mattingly; and infant daughter, Tracie Mattingly.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dottie Mattingly; son, Glen (Heather) Mattingly; son, Brian (Amy) Mattingly; grandchildren, Cody Mattingly, McKenzie Mattingly, Emily Mattingly, and Ty Mattingly; and great-grandson, Landon Wilson-Mattingly; and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, June 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Roger's memory be made to First Baptist Church of Salem - Building Fund (P.O. Box 283, Salem, IN 47167).
