Henry Lee Anderson, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Henry was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Henryville Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and laying out in the sun. Henry was proud to be the 2nd place winner with his horse, Trigger, in the Henryville Fireman's Parade. He loved to walk around his neighborhood and keep an eye on everything, which led many to refer to him as the "Neighborhood Sheriff." Henry was an avid country music fan and, later in life, spent time watching westerns on T.V.
He was born on August 1, 1946, in Memphis, Indiana, to the late Charles and Bessie (Piper) Anderson. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Kay (Bottorff) Anderson; brother, Marvin Anderson; and brothers in-law, Marvin Goode and Bill Mosley.
Henry is survived by his son, David (Laura) Anderson; daughter, Debbie (Damon) Smith; sister, Ada Goode; brother, Charles "Ronnie" (Betsy) Anderson; brother, Donnie Anderson; sister, Connie Mosley; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Private Family Service will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Henry will be laid to rest next to his wife at Bowery Cemetery in Memphis, Indiana.
