He was born on December 16, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to William and Grace (Williams) Avery. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Vicki Avery, Parents, Brothers, Joseph Gaddis, and Ralph Gaddis.
Don is survived by his Sons, Donald Ray Avery, Jr., and Michael C. Avery, Daughter, Rebekah Avery, Step-Daughter, Tammy L. (David) Cousins, Step-Son, Ronnie (Tobey) Bright, Grandchildren, Rachel Avery, Ryan Cousins, Morgan Cousins, Jarrod Bright, and Alyssa Bright, Michael Avery, and Trevor Walker, Great-Grandchildren, Mackinziey Hardin, Micah Avery, and Aaliyah Sisson.
