Penelope "Penny" Masterson, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the age of 96.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nancy Mary and Steven Peter Vires, brother Peter Vires and son-in-law Pickle Collard.
She enjoyed her career at Traveler's Insurance but was also a devoted wife to the love of her life, the late Spero Masterson. She was a much-loved Mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to strangers. Penny was blessed with an amazing sense of humor that would lift the spirits of everyone around her either by her exuberant and cheerful personality or by the delicious Greek desserts that she baked. We will miss her famous koularakia and kourabiedes. She was a member of the Daughters of Penelope, Greek American Society, Philoptochos Ladies Society and Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Alexandra Collard, grandchildren, Christopher Neagli (Megan); and Stephanie Stephens (Quentin); great grandchildren Raelynn and Kinsley, sister-in-law Robbie Avlonitis, nephews Spiros and Nikos Avlonitis, nieces Marilena and Tasi of Corfu, Greece, Judy Gulley and great niece Melissa Lake and family of Harrogate TN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
She will have a private funeral service with a celebration of her life at a later date. She was truly one of a kind and loved by all.
