Eva Mae Burton , 68, of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away on March 6, 2020. She retired from JCPS and was a member of Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church.
Eva was born on July 30, 1951 in Eminence, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Ford; her brothers, Robert and Larry Ford; and her sister, Jean Hayes.
Eva is survived by her children, Lisa Wakefield (Tyrone), Terry Ford and Rhonda Gaither (Darrell); mother, Ella Payne Ford; sisters, Lynda Hinkle (Wesley), Mae Ford and Ann Neal; grandchildren, Rachel White (Mychal), Dominique Thompson, Terree Ford, Keyshia Patterson, LaDontae Thompson, Terry Ford, Jr., Courtney Wakefield, and Michael Rivers, Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church (3700 Shanks Lane, Louisville, KY 40216), with a service to honor the life of Eva to follow at 1 pm at church. Burial will be held at Green Meadows Cemetery.
In loving memory of Eva, memorial donations may be made to Baptist East Consultant Blood Disorder (CBC).
