Maurice Allen Tipton

Maurice Allen Tipton, 81, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020. Maurice was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of UK basketball and football, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cincinnati Bengals; and an avid collector of autographs from many famous celebrities.
Maurice was born on September 23, 1938, in Smithfield, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Eva Mae (Ogden) Tipton. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, William Tipton, Charles Sharp, Laura Sutton, and Mary Jo Jefferies.
Maurice is survived by his loving wife, April (Haendiges) Tipton; children, Connie (Brian) Case, Tina (Doug) Long, Tracey Bowling, and James (Libby) Edds; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Faye (Rodney) Booth, Carroll Ray (Rita) Tipton, and Robert Tipton.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Cremation was chosen in regards to Maurice's wishes.
The family requests that contributions in Maurice's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
