James "Sonny" Knox, Jr., 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020.
Sonny was born on May 29, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to James and Minnie Knox. He is preceded in death by his Parents and numerous Brothers and Sisters.
James is survived by his loving Wife of 63 years, Amelia Knox; Daughter, Cormelia Clay; Daughter, Elizabeth Ann Knox; Son, James E. (Karen) Knox III; Daughter, Sharon (Donnell) Davis; Son, Glenn Knox; Daughter, Theresa (Philbert) Duncan; Son, Gregory Knox, Sr.; Son, Dante Simpson; Son, Jaque Simpson; Brother, Clarence H. Knox; 26 Grandchildren; 23 Great-Grandchildren; and a host of other family members.
A gathering for Sonny's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Moore Temple Church of God in Christ (2315 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40211). A celebration of his life will be Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the church with burial to follow at Louisville Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in James' memory be made to Moore Temple Church of God in Christ.
