George E. Williams, Jr., 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019.
He was born on March 11, 1939 in Washington, DC to George and Nellie (Lewis) Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 42 years, Rosa Mae Williams, daughter, Danita L. Todd, son, Victor M. Williams. George honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, retiring after 20 years of service. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He enjoyed bowling, spending time with his family and was a U of L fan. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Rita L. Mitchell, daughter, Monica E. Abell, 5 grandchildren, Erica (Louis, Jr.) Hilliard, LeAndra Rowe, Montez Boller, Austin Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, 5 great grandchildren, Destiny Allen, Dasia Allen, Jaiden Hilliard, DeAndre Allen, Louis Hilliard, III, 1 great-great grandson, Darius Allen.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
