Charlie McCarty, 74, of Anchorage, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

He was born on March 19, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles Sr., and Ilene (Puryear) McCarty. He is also preceded in death by his son Charles William McCarty, III, grandson, Jacob Robert Plamp, father-in-law John Edward Nelson and sister-in-law Diane McCarty.

Charlie was a member of Southeast Christian Church, where he was active in teaching toddler Sunday School class and serving communion. He retired after working several years as a construction superintendent.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jean McCarty, children Adrien (McCarty)Vance (Chris), Abram McCarty (Jess), Ashley (McDonald) Williamson (Lance), Austin McDonald (Danielle), Cheri (McCarty) Eskridge, seven grandchildren; Carter, Angel, Ashlyn, Austin, Kylee, Chelsea and Will. He is also survived by siblings; Charlene, Wayne (Gayle), Donald, Margie (Doug), Pam (Clark), mother-in-law Rose Nelson, sister-in-law Charlotte (Otis) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 19, 2019 in the Fireside Room at Southeast Christian Church, (920 Blankenbaker Pkwy Louisville, KY 40243).

The family requests that contributions in Charlie's memory be made to The Alzheimer's Association, Hosparus of Louisville and/or Southeast Christian Church.
