James E. "Jim" "Captain Roberts" Roberts, Sr., 81, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on December 11, 2019.
Jim retired from US Army and Kentucky Department of Correction. Jim was a member of Eastside Praise Ministry Center.
Jim was born on December 19, 1937 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Dempsey and Gracie Roberts.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Diann Grider Roberts; son, James E. Roberts (Carolyn), Jr.; daughter, Sandy Delph; step-daughters, Tracy Smith (Donald), Dawn Hurtt (Gordon)and Sheila Key (Darrell); step-sons, Russell Phillips, Donnie Philips (Glenna) and Gary Phillips (Shelly); brothers, Troy Meadows (Donna), Vernon Roberts (Mary) and Leroy "Buggy" Roberts (Edith); sister, Darlene Graves (Darrell); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Eastside Praise Ministry Center (6300 Billtown Road, Louisville, KY 40299). A service to honor the life of Jim will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 11 am at church. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11 am at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
In loving memory of Jim, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or The Vietnam Veterans.
