John Robert Simms Sr.

John Robert "Bob" Simms Sr., 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019. John was a member of Teamsters Local 89, owner of Casino Entertainment, a Kentucky Colonel, and author of the book "Beat'em at Their Own Game".
Bob was born on September 17, 1938 in Loretto, Kentucky to Joseph Simms and Florene Hardin Simms. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Jean Simms.
John is survived by his Sons, Bryan (Sandi) Simms and John R. (Jeanie) Simms, Jr., Brother, Garry (Diane) Simms, Grandchildren, Trevor Simms, Evan Simms, Tyler Simms, Tanner Simms, and Emily Simms.
A gathering of Bob's family and friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in John's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
