Louis Henry O'Bryan, Jr.

Louis H. O'Bryan, Jr., 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

He was born on August 3, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Louis, Sr., and Elizabeth (Payne) O'Bryan. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Mary Ann Humbert, Margaret Frymire, Lorene King and Joan McCann.

Lou retired in 1988 from Fort Knox after serving 37 years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. Lou was an avid runner, loved deer hunting and a huge UK basketball fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janet O'Bryan, children Kelly O'Bryan (Angela), Sean O'Bryan (Paula), Katie O'Bryan, siblings Betty McCoy, Kathleen Powell, Jane O'Bryan, Julia Eucino and Dan O'Bryan. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Cody, Megan, Sean, Jr., Tyler, Alexander, Ahren, Shelby, Blakie, Morgan, Riley, Ryan and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

His funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the funeral home with burial to follow at 1:00 pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.

The family would like extend a special thanks to the Eastern Star Home for their exceptional care for Lou.
