Scott E. Hurst

Scott E. Hurst, 60, of Martinsburg, Indiana, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Scott was known as an excellent woodworker and cabinet maker. He loved to be outdoors fishing and mushroom hunting with his faithful pup, Dexter.

He was born on June 9, 1959, in Salem, Indiana, to Shirley (Schamel) and the late Wayne E. Hurst.

Along with his mother, Scott is survived by his children, Scotty W. (Megan) Hurst, Jennifer M. (Travis) Nicks, and JoAnna M. (Leroy Davis) Hurst; grandchildren, Norah Hurst, Tucker Hurst, Treven Nicks, Brody Nicks, and Hattie Nicks; sister, Pamela (Steve) Hurst; brother, Jeffrey (Gina) Hurst; mother of his children and friend, Pauline Hurst; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019, and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Martinsburg Cemetery in Martinsburg, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Scott's memory be made to Martinsburg Cemetery Association (c/o Billy Martin Furniture Store, 10295 S State Road 335, Pekin, IN 47165).
