Beverly (Patrick) Wynn, 82, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, surrounded by her family and, appropriately, a former student who was her nurse.
She shared her light and love for over 53 years in the public school system. Most of those years were with Borden Elementary School. Following her retirement, wherever Mrs. Wynn went, she would encounter many of her hundreds of former students. Remarkably, more often than not, Mrs. Wynn remembered them by name. Mrs. Wynn knew no strangers and spoke with everyone she met. She was kind, filled with love, and possessed a humble heart. Mrs. Wynn mentioned on many occasions that she had lived a blessed life.
She was born on June 23, 1936, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to the late Howard and Blanche (Wampler) Patrick. Mrs. Wynn was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wynn; and sister, Martelle VanHoose.
Mrs. Wynn is survived by her daughters, Meg and Beth; grandchildren, Leah, Carly, Raymond, Paige, and Owen; and great-grandchildren whom she adored, Katherine, Evan, Hudson, Tayton, and Della.
Cremation was chosen following Mrs. Wynn's wishes, and a reception of family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). She will be laid to rest privately in Paintsville, Kentucky.
Contributions in Mrs. Wynn's memory be made to the American Cancer Society (1640 Lyndon Farm Court, Suite 104, Louisville, KY 40223).
