After recently celebrating his 69th birthday, Kenneth Joseph Muth--born
January 4, 1950, in Yakima, Washington--died at his home in Louisville,
Kentucky, on March 16, 2019.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Ken pursued a career in
electrical engineering and information technology.
In 1978, he married graphic designer/illustrator Annemarie Schoen.
During nearly 41 years of marriage, Ken worked in IT and eventually
became an IT manager. He was employed by the Boeing Company,
Tenneco, Monroe Auto Parts, Gale Research, ECDI, Inc., and IMA. He
and Annemarie lived in Seattle, Washington; Newport News, Virginia;
Toledo, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Bluffton, Indiana; and finally
Louisville, Kentucky, where they hoped to retire.
Despite the demands of his work, Ken was very active in the Catholic
Church, serving as a minister of Holy Communion at Sunday Mass, as a
coordinator of the perpetual adoration program (along with his wife), and
as a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a past Grand Knight of the
Holy Innocents Council at St. Martin of Tours parish in Louisville,
Kentucky.
He and Annemarie were also Benedictine Oblates associated with St.
Meinrad's Archabbey in Indiana and worked with the pro-life movement
through Allen County Right to Life organization in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Ken helped coordinate the first busloads of students traveling from Fort
Wayne to Washington, DC, for the annual March for Life while
Annemarie worked as the organization's communications coordinator.
Ken is survived by Annemarie Schoen Muth, his two brothers, Russell
(Rowena) and Arnold (Mardell), his sister-in-law Jeanine, and
numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019
at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (639 S Shelby St). The family will
receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the church on Saturday.
Friends are also invited to attend a luncheon after the service in the church hall.
