David Alan Ward

David Alan "Dave" Ward, 69, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday morning, January 27, 2019. He enjoyed playing solitaire, building bird houses, and was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers.

He was born on January 19, 1950 in New Albany to the late Herb and Marie (Zurschmeide) Ward. Dave was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Carmickle.

Dave is survived by his wife of over 39 years, Brenda (Tolbert) Ward; son, Jeff Marshall; sister, Donna Byrd (Steve); brother-in-law, Gary Carmickle; grandson, Ethan Marshall; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) an on Thursday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Old Blue River Cemetery.
