James Michael "Jim" Clay, 63, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018. He loved to travel and scuba dive and was even known to swim with sharks. Jim was a gifted guitar player and had a passion for music. He was a member of Underwood Baptist Church in Underwood. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served as a combat medic during Operation Desert Storm.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Strange) Clay; daughters, Mandy Roberts (Jason), Hollie Madison (Michael), Hannah Young (Derek), and Kiya Stewart (Mark); father, Quentin Clay (Carolyn); mother, Betty (Cogswell) Clay; brother, David Clay (Edith); grandchildren, Jackson, Mia, Pierce, Lily, Asher, and Mason; and nephews, Alex and James Clay. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary "Nanny" Clay.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Underwood Baptist Church (22817 West Street, Underwood, Indiana) with additional visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
