Barbara Jo Mcfarland

Barbara Jo McFarland, age 82 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away with family by her side on December 17th, 2018 after a long fought battle with vascular dementia. She was born on March 5th, 1936 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Lucille (Witherspoon) Herron. Barbara graduated from Nursing School at General Hospital in the 1950s, and became a practicing registered nurse. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon McFarland; and grandson, Nathan Eisert.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James Russell McFarland; her daughter, Jan Ulrich (Stephen); sons, Joe (Theresa) and Jim (Starla) McFarland; granddaughters, Shanna (Dallas) Steiden, Dana McFarland, Sabrina and Sheridan Brown, Michelle Hieb and Kirsten Sacra; grandsons, Stuart McFarland, Aaron (Nikki) and Stephen (Kendra) Ulrich; several great-grandchildren; brother Ron (Brenda) Herron; family, friends, and faithful canine companion, Jitterbug.

Visitation will be 11 am - 1 pm on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 (in Middletown), with a celebration of Barbara's life at 1pm.
