Myrtle Thelma Ory

Myrtle Thelma Ory, 95, of Pewee Valley, KY, formerly of New Orleans, LA, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Myrtle was a secretary for a finance company for most of her life. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, camping, shopping, travel and most of all making cookies, especially for her grandchildren and great and great-great grandchildren.

Myrtle would always volunteer at many places, such as her church and apartment complex. She had a love for helping and serving others because of her strong faith in Christ.

She was born on September 5, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Walter Raschke and Josephine (Helfrich) Raschke. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Harry Raschke and Josephine Amelia Raschke; her husband, Clifford Hugh Ory; and her sister, Mary Barcellona; and brother-in-law, Raymond Barcellona.

Myrtle is survived by her loving daughters, Evelyn Thibaudeau (David) and Lorraine Streeb (Michael); grandchildren, Thomas J. Thibaudeau (Tracy), Stephen C. Thibaudeau (Patricia), Joan R. Walter (Michael) and Sara J. Whyatt; great-grandchildren, Tim and Trevor Thibaudeau, Brandon Page (Lacie), Andrew, Hannah, Faith and Eva Thibaudeau, Garrett, Guy and Grace Garrison, Ronda Whyatt, Catherine Cooper (Alex), Daniel Edwards (Mollie), Hevanna and Angel Edwards, Tristen, Breauna and James Walter; two great-great grandchildren, Miles Edwards and Harper Page.

Visitation will be from 12 pm to 1 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church, (9212 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40299), with a service to honor the life of Myrtle to follow at 1 pm at church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Myrtle's memory be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Youth Mission Trip (9212 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40299).
