Thomas Daniel Higgins

Thomas "Tom" Higgins Sr., 52, of Louisville, Kentucky, went to receive his heavenly, pain free body on Monday, December 3, 2018. Thomas was retired from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Tom was born on August 18, 1966 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lewis Burton and Patricia Benson. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Tom was an avid fan of all sports, especially football, basketball and soccer. He could readily recite stats on most any team, pro or college. He enjoyed watching his beloved U of L Cardinals most of all. Tom was a dedicated music lover that saw all the best concerts. But, above all, he loved his sons and granddaughter with all his heart

Thomas is survived by his Sons, Tommy (Shannon) Higgins Jr., and Joseph Higgins, Step-Son, Chase Durden, Brothers, Larry Higgins (Donna), Gerry Benson, Sister, Teri Savage (Mike), Nephew, Rich Gosselin (Brittany), granddaughter Julie, his sons' mothers Amy McGill and fiance' and partner in crime Kelly Durden.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, at the funeral home with burial to follow in St. George Cemetery, Brandenburg, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Thomas's memory be made to Shirley's Way.
