George W. Davis

George W. Davis, 83, of Louisville, KY went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 25, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marie Davis, brother, Lawrence "Bud" Davis and sisters, Marie and Virginia.

George is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 56 years, Joyce Davis; children, Drew (Karla) Davis and Kelli (Kevin) Hicks; grandchildren, Kirstyn Davis, Lyric Hicks, Dalton Davis and Ally Hicks; siblings, Lavada Sanders and Roscoe Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.

He retired from Rohm and Haas and was instrumental in unionizing the plant. George was an Army Veteran, Master Mason, Kentucky Colonel, Labor Ambassador, L&N Credit Union member since 1954, volunteer for over 21 years and a member of the Board of Directors. He was an avid UK fan. George was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He lived a great life because he was a great man.

Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-8pm. A celebration of George's life will be Tuesday, October 30, 2018, beginning at 12pm with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10am.

Entombment will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens - West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
