Verda E. (Winstead) Spicer, 89, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018.
She was born on February 14, 1929, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to Kinzie and Lizzie (Pittman) Winstead. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Spicer; son, Larry Spicer; sisters, Elta Zimmerman, Helen Wilson, and Wanda Amann; and brothers, Junior Winstead, Verlon Winstead, and Foxie Lee Winstead.
Verda is survived by her son, David Spicer (Cynthia); daughter-in-law, Sharon Spicer; grandchildren, Eugenia Russelburg (Tim), Christy Spicer, Kimberly Spicer, Brandon Spicer (Sara), and Aaron Spicer (Amy); great-grandchildren, Kody Russelburg, Michaela Williams, Lauran Powell (Kyller), Annie Spicer, Jack Spicer, Adam Spicer, Josiah Spicer, Kyle Spicer, Frankie Spicer, Henry Spicer, Addison VanZant, Allison VanZant, and Mason VanZant; great-great-grandchildren, Eliana Lynn and Gabriel Lynn; sisters, Barbara Mefford and Georgia Kelly; brothers, Wayne Winstead (Rose) and Harold Winstead (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
