Lester Murphy, Jr., 64, of Mount Eden, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018.
He was born on June 27, 1954 in Fern Creek, Kentucky to the late Lester and Stella (Berryman) Murphy. He is also preceded in death by his sister Betty Sue Gnagie.
Lester worked in the family concrete business for many years until his father retired. He then took over the business as owner and operator of Murphy Concrete Inc. for 8 years. Lester loved Kentucky Wildcat Basketball, riding Harley -Davidson motorcycles, his log cabin he built himself and all his family and friends.
Lester is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Cindy Murphy, son Aaron Murphy (Kendra), grandchildren Destiny Murphy, Joshua Murphy, Kadence Murphy and Paisley Murphy. He is also survived by his siblings Ricky Murphy (Kim), Mary Druck (Steve), John Murphy (Shelley) and Linda Johnson (Don), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be held from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the funeral home with burial at Middletown Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Lester 's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville and/or Poplar Level Baptist Church (14302 Poplar Lane Louisville, KY 40299).
