Carl Alan Ferguson

Carl "Alan" Ferguson, 83, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. He was a United States Air Force veteran and retired from Sears & Roebuck Company.

He was born on December 22, 1934, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Carl R. and Mary (Rhodes) Ferguson. Alan was also preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, John, and Mary; and grandson, Matthew Ferguson.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Esther (Sullivan) Ferguson; sons, Dale Ferguson (Anita) and Gregory Ferguson (Jan); siblings, Paul Ferguson (Nita), Ruth Albin, and Shirley Oechsler (Jim); brother-in-law, James Burger; sister-in-law, Doris Rhodes; grandchildren, Jennifer Wilkinson, Kevin Ferguson (Paigh), and Jason Ferguson; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen following Alan's wishes. A reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Memorial Service taking place at 6:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest privately at Mount Zion Cemetery in Lanesville.
