Russell Morgan Harned Sr.

Russell Morgan Harned Sr., 86 of Louisville passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

Russell was a devoted loving husband, father, pappaw, great grandpa, brother and friend. He was a man of great faith, cherished by all who knew him, living his life by example, not words. He was a member of South Jefferson Christian Church for over 58 years and served as an Elder for many years. He retired from Alcan Aluminum after 41 years. Russell was in the army, honorably serving his country and a avid golf player. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 4 brothers.

He is survived by wife Millie of 63 years, son Russell Morgan Harned Jr., Pam Cooper, Vicky Prewitt (Jim), and Kim Fritz; grandchildren Joshua Harned (Amy), Wendy Harned, Alan Cooper and Ashlee Prewitt; great grandchildren Lexi Cooper, Brody Harned and Kaleb Hayse; sisters Emma Haselwood, Agnes Harned and Radie Hall; numerous nieces and nephews; good neighbors (more family than neighbor) Yvonne and David Hatfield; and his dog Bear.

Visitation for Russell will be held at South Jefferson Christian Church, 6500 W. Orell Rd, Louisville, KY 40272, on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 3-8 pm. A celebration of Russell's life will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the church, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
