Marshawn Terrell Smith

Marshawn Terrell Smith, 44, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

He was born on October 19, 1973 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Floyd and Bonita (Ivey) Smith. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Gail Smith.

Marshawn was baptized at First Baptist Church of Hicks Addition in Spencer, OK on January 29, 1978. He was a 1991 graduate of Rich Central High School (Olympia Fields, IL) where he played football and was a four time regional wrestling champion. He attended Lasen College in Susanville, CA on a wrestling scholarship. He graduated from Louisville Tech College where he obtained an Associate Degree in Information Technology.

He went on fulfilling his dream career path at Humana as a Senior Unified Communications Engineer. He enjoyed Sunday dinners with the entire family, cooking, and in his words the "Official Number 1 Fan" of the Chicago Bears.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Lynn Smith, four children Stephanie Sonja (Kendrick Johnson), Keshia Renee Hurd (Chuckie), Savannah Samone, Sydney Sierra, five grandchildren Jasmine, Ariel, Londynn, Tristan, Trenton sisters, Felicia Hamilton (Shaun), Jennifer Smith and father, Floyd B. Smith. He is also survived by nephews Jalen, Kyle, Devyn, Bryson, niece Bailey and a host of uncles, aunts, grandparents and extended family.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the funeral home.
