John Francis Black, 68, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family.
John was born on September 27, 1949, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Rosetta M. (Sterley) and Paul L. Black, Sr. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Ingle.
John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Teresa A. (Lawson) Black; his children, Mark A. Black, Angela N. Kinser (Christopher), and Tiffany A. Zimmerman (Nic); 4 grandchildren; siblings, Paul Black "PJ", Jr., Linda Adkins, Christina Veasey, Pamela Hardin, and Robert Black; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow in Bowery Cemetery in Memphis.
