Dr. David Robert Cunningham, 70, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018 with family by his side.
He was born in Baden, PA on October 24, 1947 to the late Richard and Jean (Davis) Cunningham.
He was a retired professor of Audiology, Communicative Disorders with the University of Louisville Department of Surgery. He was a graduate of Ambridge High School, 1965. He graduated from Geneva College, Beaver, PA with a Bachelor of Science and graduated from the University of Kansas with a PhD in Audiology Sciences. He was an author of many papers and a pioneer in the development of the doctoral degree of Audiology at the University of Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Barry Cunningham. He is survived by his loving wife Beth Ann Ham and his two children, Sarah Cunningham and Emily Cunningham of Louisville, KY. He was an adoring grandfather to Stella Moore, Victoria Harilson, Tyler Harilson, and Kailynn Moorman.
A celebration of David's life will be held at Lyndon Elks Lodge 2052, 904 Ormsby Lane in Louisville, KY on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the American Academy of Audiology Foundation (1-800-881-5410) or the Colon Cancer Prevention Project (502)290-0288.
