Lawrence Thompson

Lawrence "True Blue" Thompson, 70, of Louisville, KY went to his eternal rest on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Jewish Hospital. Lawrence was born on July 3, 1947 in Louisville. He was a son of the late William Edward and Mary Edna (Buckner) Thompson. He was retired from Jefferson County Public Works and was a Vietnam War Army Veteran. Lawrence was baptized on November 17, 2007 and took his church membership with St Stephen Church.



Lawrence was preceded in death by a son, Damon Elliott Thompson and by his first wife, Shelia Ann Thompson. He is survived by four sons; Warren, Lawrence, Jr., and Lorenzo W. Thompson of Louisville and Michael Thompson of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren; Phillip, Angetta, Lawrence III, Ciera, Jeremiah Isaiah and Emma Renee' Thompson and Gabrielle Anderson all of Louisville.



Additional survivors include four sisters, Laura Mae Holliman, Juanita Boyd, Gwendolyn Thompson and Angela Crawford; two brothers, Alphonso and George (Vanessa) Thompson all of Louisville; four step-daughters, Nashika James and Tonette (Ricky) Rutledge-Caldwell of Louisville and Darlette (Donnie) Lloyd and Angie James of Alabama, eleven step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.



Visitation will be on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 o'clock at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 10304 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY with Omar Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central Radcliff, Kentucky..
