Paul W. Flaherty

Paul W. Flaherty, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 surrounded by his family. He retired from MKM Machine Tool Company in Jeffersonville, Indiana after 46 years of dedicated service. Paul was a handyman and enjoyed nature.

He was born on June 29, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Claude and Alberta (Cole) Flaherty. Paul was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Flaherty, Vonnie Cotton, and Thelma Parsons.

Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Brown) Flaherty; children, Sherry Mercer (Andy), Karen Brown, Vikey Reed (Mike), Greg Flaherty (Ronnie Needy); siblings, Joyce Herbert, Chris Blanton, Marlene Kleinhelter, Charlotte Newton (Tom), Gail Lobred (Joe), Jackie Woods (Ed), Joe Flaherty (Becky), Gary Flaherty (Robin); grandchildren, Megan Reid (Tommy), Nate Mercer, Emily Johnson (Cody), Paul Brown (Kate), Rachel Brown, Joe Reed, Jenny Reed; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12 PM to 4 PM Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 4 PM. Cremation will following according to Paul's wishes.

The family requests that contributions in Paul's memory be made to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, IN 47150).
