Doris Jean (Jeffries) Gibson

Doris Jean (Jeffries) Gibson, 77, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away on December 7, 2017, with her loving family by her side. Doris was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Sellersburg. She will be remembered for her love of crafting, crocheting, and tending her plants. Doris's true love will always be for her faith, her church, and her family.

Doris was born on January 13, 1940, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Layman and Noxie L. (Harvey) Jeffries. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Tom Jeffries; and granddaughter, Tammy Brown.

She is survived by her children, Terry Ballinger, Carol Reece, Sherry Tedrow (Tom), and Billy Gibson (Beth); sister, Sharon Tuley (Ray); grandchildren, Wayne Reece, Brian Schrayer, Tabatha Thompson, Bradley Gibson, Katlyn Gibson, Scott Sapp, Maddie Gibson, and Grant Gibson; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer-Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) and will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Her Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Tabernacle (714 East Utica Street, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery in New Albany.
